Mother's day weekend was quite the story. It started with Brandon arriving home Thursday evening with "My car is almost dead, I need to take it to a shop." At the same time our van had a coolant leak and was scheduled to be fixed on Monday. To make the long story short, the car got toed to a mechanic and it's life was to be determined Friday afternoon. We waited all day Friday to find out that most likely the transmission was shot. They could not run all the tests they wanted too and said they could finish the synopsis on Monday. In the mean time I enjoyed my Saturday morning by joining a bunch of my friends at Kneaders! They have the best french toast EVER! After that, Brandon, the kids and I started a long drawn out process of car hunting. The kids did rather well for the situation they were in. We chose on dealer and spent pretty much the whole entire day with them. Luckily, Riley accidentally shut a car door on Lorelei's head leading to a major melt down. It was our ticket out! That evening we decided to go back to Enterprise to find a new car. We realized the toyota was not worth saving and that the hands off approach of Enterprise was very appealing. Later that evening the clear liquid that was pouring out of all three kids eyes began to turn yellow. They all began to complain about aches and pains. Sunday finally arrived and the master decision was to skip church and head to urgent care. I already knew pink eye was on the list for all three, but then the list grew. Lorelei was close to a ruptured ear drum. All three had ear infection's, and all of them were suffering from sinus infections too. Ever since Riley started school, we just can't seem to catch a break. I am officially ready for warm weather to reappear! After getting an arm load of antibiotics and eye drops, we were finally on the mend. Monday we spent the day repairing the van, then stuffed all the kids into it and drove down to Enterprise. This time we did our homework online. We found the car we wanted. I sat in the van with my sick kids and their glorious Leap Pads. Eventually, Brandon and the sales rep came out and had me sign a paper. A few minutes later Brandon said I could go home with the kids. In the back of my mind I knew I had signed more than one paper with the van, but with three tired hungry kids I gladly left anyway. When I reached home and began my preparations for dinner, Brandon called. "Brandi I am sorry, but could you please come back and sign 10 more papers?" In my head I was thinking "really Brandon?" Luckily he bribed me and the kids with Cafe Rio. I got Natalie dinner in a bottle and headed back. When signing the papers the guy asked me "would you like me to tell you what each paper says?" I looked at him and said "after the weekend we have had, I will trust you guys and sign away my life." All in all it really wasn't a bad weekend. In-between the craziness I got flowers, ice cream, a handmade Butterfly from Riley, Cafe Rio, Brandon's new car, and once again happy kids. Though the outdoor pictures of the kids and Brandon are from the fallowing weekend, I figured it was a redue for the first!
Riley lost his first tooth! He was so upset that all the others kids in his class were loosing teeth except for him. So one day I gave him an apple for lunch. He bit into the apple and began to cry. He was now upset to have a loose tooth that he so coveted the week before. After calming him down explaining to him that this was a good thing he became excited once again. This last week it finally came out, but this time it was by a banana at lunch. The irony made us laugh. The envelope he is holding reads.

We spent Memorial weekend enjoying the land that so many have fought for. Our destination this year was Roxborough state park. It was a wonderful Colorado day filled with storms and sunshine. The kids hiked a 2 mile loop with us and did not complain once. It was a hiking miracle. We even got caught in a storm and had to run most of the way back.

Monday we visited the Butterfly pavilion and a park close to home.
The kids definitely are in their element at the park. It will be sad when they decide that they are too good for the park.
