Memorial day/ Last day of school!

Memorial Day was a little different this year. Usually we go out and explore somewhere new, but this time Brandon was out of town. Instead we checked out a new splash pad close to home Located at the MAC! (so I guess you could still consider it something new...) The MAC is a huge rec center near our home. Natalie wasn't thrilled about the water and had more fun climbing on the decorative rocks and staying on the outside radius. Every time a droplet of water would hit her she would run to me and voice her distaste with and "ow" or "hurt". I tried to reassure her that it was okay to get wet and that is was not hurting her, but she did not agree.
Lollie got cold really fast! Speaking of Lollie, I have some new conversations to share. The other day she looked at me and said "someday, I am going to have to go to the hospital to have a baby and it will hurt. But the beautiful thing is I get to hold it."
Then on Sunday after church Riley kept calling her a smarty pants. She did not like this and began to yell at him. I told her that she could take it as a complement. She looked at me and said "but it's a lie." I laughed so hard she cried louder and said "stop laughing at me, you guys don't love me anymore."
Today while playing with Riley I could hear her crying. I walked into the room and asked her if she was okay. With tears streaming down her face she smiled at me and said "I'm okay mommy, it's my toy that's crying."
I'm almost thinking of putting this pint sized adult into acting classes.
I wish memorial was the start of our summer vacation, but sadly Riley still had to endure two more days of school. Last week they got to have their field day and class party. I have no clue what they did the past two days, but I am sure it was very laid back! Riley insisted that I take an end of the school year picture. I thought it would be cute to put them side by side to see how much he has grown!
I tried to get a photo of Nat and Lor together.
Riley brought home all of school papers and I found this gem in them. My little guy is so cute and I never realized how much of a little leader he is. His friend Lillie was sick and could not go to her last day of school. Riley made sure that she got her signed pillow case and school papers. He loves to help and look out for others! Even more he loves to show off for his teachers!

Usually after Riley heads off to school the girls and I go for a run. Lorelei now bikes most of the three miles except for the hills. I turn into a tow boat at both ends. I push Natalie up the hill and drag lollie behind me. It has given me great arm strength! Today we got a picture of this adorable baby ground hog.
We also got a really good photo of this bunny even though my distaste for them is strong. They eat almost every flower I plant. Brandon keeps threatening to buy a bb gun. I keep advising him not to because of camera man behind us. I am sure the first time Brandon shoots a bunny HOA would be notified and the cops would be at our door.

I am so sad the end of the school year is now upon us. Riley loved everything about it and I get all mushy gushy. No tears on the first day for this mom, but plenty on the last day. It means my baby is getting older and sometimes I just want time to stop!
