Good Ol Oregon part 1!

The month of June was a whirlwind of fun. I don't think e-bogger has enough room for all the pictures I got! :) Brandon and I planned a 2 week vacation to Oregon for his sisters wedding and to visit family. Luckily Brandon's work decided to send him to Korea 2 weeks before our vacation. This gave me an impulse decision to change my flight. I'm glad I did, because I got to spend more time with my family.

This vacation was the first time Mindy and Lorelei met. My sister was totally smitten with her and Riley. I think my kids are lucky to have an aunt like Mindy. She is so much fun and treats them as if they were her own. Just go into her room and you will find their pictures everywhere!

Lorelei got to meet her cousin Will. He is three months younger than her, but just as big as her!

Riley at Pirate park climbing up the net all by himself.

The advantage of being the only grandson to Nanna and Opa is that you get your own caillou doll.

A Few Wedding pics of the cute couple and of course more of the kids! They are just too cute to not have more pictures of them.

Riley was totally fed up with wedding pictures. Not to mention he fell and hit his head before this picture was taken.

The only recent picture with all of us in it! :p It's time for a new family photo shoot.

All Smiles!

Because I was gone for the whole month of June, I neglected to add new monthly photos of Lorelei. So below is her 3 and 4 month pictures! :)

Over due Easter Happenings!

We attended what was supposed to be an Easter egg hunt hosted by a family in the ward. Everyone and anyone was welcomed to join. We Unfortunately were running late due to Lorelei getting hungry last minute. :p When we did get there Riley did not care much for the hunt or the Bunny. Instead the play structure was the main attraction. Eventually, but not without a fight we pried him away from the playground to see a fire truck! (Brother Reynolds works with a reality firm that owns this retired fire truck. He brings it to the Halloween ward event every year as well. The kids get to take rides on it!) Thinking Riley would be excited to see a firetruck Brandon started to walk him over. As you can see we hardly even got close to it when the tears erupted. Riley is defensively backing away...

Not even his friend Abby could coax him onto the fire truck.

Although Riley did not want to get onto that fire truck Brandon did. So Brandon being the big kid that he is went to get onto the truck. Riley ran screaming behind him "no daddy!" He grabbed onto Brandon's leg and held onto him for dear life. Eventually Brandon pulled him onto the the Fire Engine and away they went. I wish I had a picture of them together, but unfortunately my batteries died. Well it suffices to say he enjoyed the ride, but freaked out again as soon as his little feet hit the ground. Easter the next day was not as traumatic. Riley enjoyed his plastic eggs of Jelly beans and took a close liking to his chocolate bunny.
Here he is finding an egg.....

Discovering what's inside.........

and showing off what he thought was a "new toy bunny."

And where was Lorelei during all the festivities, you may ask?!?!? Well, she was just hanging out in her own little world.

She's 84!

It's Crazy to think that my 84 year old Grandma and aunt took the time and money to come out and visit us! Not many family members have in the two years we have lived here. It was a huge blessing and treat to have them around on Lorelei's blessing day. I was sad that the parental's and aunts and uncles couldn't come, but so are the facts of life. Riley and Lorelei loved the attention Oma and aunt Dorothy gave them. We got to celebrate Grams Birthday with a lovely dinner, cake and crying Riley. (he thought it was his birthday and when he realized it was for someone else, he fell apart.) I'm just thankful for Gram. She is the one grandparent who has always been a part of my life.

(Gram looks like a 50's baking soda add, but instead she's trying to sell my daughter)

(I love this candid shot!)

(Aunt Dorothy and Gram with Lorelei. As you can see, she is doing her famous "hoochie Heichie." I can actually hear her saying it, by just looking at the picture.)

(Riley smelling flowers at the Temple)

(The Denver Temple. Sorry it's crooked.)

(Riley attacking a squirrel at the Temple)

Riley's day at the park!

Riley like most kids LOVES the park. As a matter of fact he spent 2 and a half hours at one today! The pictures below were taken on a weekend earlier this month. They have the largest slide I have been able to find here. Well enjoy the pictures of my little monkey exploring!

Disclaimer: Riley did not burn at the park. He just gets really red when he exerts any energy.

This is for the Grandmas!

I realize she has been a month for a couple of weeks now, but who can resist posting her 1 month old pictures? I got these sticky numbers for each month of her first year of life. Brittany (who helped host my baby shower) was the brain child and giver of this gift. All I need to do is put her in a white onsie, stick on the sticker and snap away with my camera. I love it! So there will be the monthly update with similar pics!

My two year old Ri Ri!

Wow, we have been giving Lolie so much blog time, that I had totally forgotten to give my sweet adorable son his moment! Riley turned two five days after the birth of his sister. In a way it was fun because Nana got to be here for his first and second birthday! Seems how the two of our kiddos are so close it may become a yearly tradition! :)

So here is our Bugaboo's Stats!
Height: 34 1/7 = 50% (Finally average and not a runt anymore!) :)
Weight: 33.7 lbs (we get so many comments about how he is going to be a good football player some day. I just hope he gets enough height to have a chance.)

Below are pictures and things about Riley you may not know!

1. Riley loves numbers and Puzzles. When we take him to the store the first thing he points out is the number 9 and screams over and over "Nine Nine Nine."

2. Riley loves "coclate" (chocolate) as he calls it. Anything Brown is now known as "coclate" or "caca". He even calls people with dark skin "caca". It took us a long time to realize what he was calling them. The meaning was revealed when he got into the cubboard and pointed to the Brownie mix and called it "caca".

3. Riley loves soft things. He goes to bed with two plush frogs and has certain clearanced blankets. If you put anything on his bed not pre-approved he gets really mad and throws them off. Brandon has had many fun nights torturing poor Riley with this. Nana's Thomas blanket (in the picture below) has made the grade! :)

4. Our new favorite Veggie is.... SOY BEANS! Have you ever heard of a toddler loving soy beans? Well, my kids is not normal when it comes to food. He loves veggies, milk, and even ate a Tabasco marinated pickle. We don't usually have Tabasco pickles in our house. It was an accident that we even had it. Poor Riley turned bright red with tears streaming down his eyes, but he continued to eat it.

5. Riley is starting to love his little sister! We have some touch and go moments still, but I thought it was sweet of him to share his cars with her.

All in all we have a polite little boy who is now using lots of words. We even got him to say a short prayer the other night! We thought that day would never come. :p Getting a two year old to even sit through a prayer is like pulling teeth. We love our Bugaboo! :)

Hospital Visit!

Nana and Riley came to visit the Day after Lorelei was born. I was glad too because I missed my bugaboo and was very happy to see my mom! At first my little guy was apprehensive and afraid of the hospital room. So Brandon, Riley, and my mom took a quick trip to the advertised cup in the picture below. I was really excited to have my french fries and strawberry shake. I had been starving since the day I had Lorelei. I had to get to the hospital at 6:00 in the morning and could not eat any food. I went the whole entire day without any food too. The most I got was grape Popsicles and ice and by the time I had her it was almost 9:00 at night. The only thing I got to have after that was juice. Thank Heavens for a loving husband and mom to come to my rescue! (the next day of course)
